Everyone should check out this book. It's definitely a fun read, especially when dreaming of far away and forgotten places!
A great read! I loved the way that I was immediately pulled into the life of Holly - mainly due to her smart and spirited life outlook (despite the colonial times). The ending completely surprised me as did the epilogue! Very well written - go get this book!!!
This is a great read! Part Jane Austen, part historical fiction (it's set in Colonial Williamsburg), part romance novel, and all smartly paced. All three main characters are great, but the scenes with Handsome Jack are a particular hoot.
The story is fairly interesting. Not a major page-turner, but it was still a good read. However, there is a major plot twist near the end that completely ruined the book for me. I understand that the author didn't want to be too predictable and had to have the standard "American hero," but it's very underdeveloped and just not at all believable. The "happy ending" that readers are supposed to accept left me really unsatisfied, and I don't think I would recommend this book.
A fabulous story line. Loved every minute of reading. It's a page turner till the end, contains mystery, intrigue and a love. You can say it's a tear jerker at the end.
